[edit] Short Term
- Create WikiFactCheck:About. What is this anyway? :-)
- Create a sample page and recruit people to play with the idea.
- Make Vector skin the default.
- Figure out a way to mark statements that need fact checking.
- Simplify way to color code statements in transcripts.
- I would recommend installing the Cite.php extension. We can then create templates like {{false statement|The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy cat.|The quick brown fox did not jump over the lazy cat, but instead over the lazy dog.[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_quick_brown_fox]}} that automatically color the text and add a footnote with the analysis. - Add video extension to mediawiki to allow the importation of videos
- Flesh out category hierarchy
- Creation of something akin to Wikipedia Userboxes to appear on each content page, describing how the content meets various criteria. This could provide a quick overview.Danny 08:27, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Done
- Installed Semantic MediaWiki extensions -- Fuzheado 11:57, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Create a WikiFactCheck:Village pump page to centralize discussion.
- Create tags such as [factcheck needed]. (use {{check}} or {{factcheck needed}}
[edit] Long Term
- Should this be a Wikimedia project? (Proposal process)
- I had considered this, and entertain views as to whether it makes sense. My initial feeling was that being independent would allow it to evolve quicker (as I'm not afraid of installing MediaWiki and getting technical with it) and experiment with different ideas about licensing (CC-SA vs CC-BY-SA) and about "neutrality." I'm not completely opposed to it, but probably know too well the conundrum of being in the bureaucratic fold of Wikimedia projects. -- Fuzheado 18:41, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think that the bureaucracy inherent in current WMF projects could be a deterrent. I f such bureaucracy eventually becomes necessary here, it should evolve naturally rather than being imposed from the start. Danny 23:57, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
